Kaliella dendrophila (Van Benthem Jutting, 1950)
“It is difficult to ascertain the affinities of this new species. Of the Javanese Liardetia perhaps L. platyconus is its nearest ally. This species however, has more whorls and the profile of the whorls is not so flat as in L. dendrophila.” (Benthem-Jutting, 1950)
Benthem-Jutting (1950) original descriptions on Liardetia dendrophila – “Shell low conical, sharply keeled at the periphery. Keel somewhat pinched, but not thread-like. Top whorl round, mammilliform. Other to straw-colour, little transparent and with a soft sliky lustre. Surface finely striate according to the growth lines. This sculpture is crossed by rather coarse and distant spiral lines (or better: rows of impressed points), about 26-30 on the upper surface of the last whorl, and numerous microscopical spiral lines between them. Whorls 4-4 ½, rapidly increasing in diameter. Spire raised, but not sharp. Umbilicus very narrow to almost closed. Aperture broad rhombiform, rather oblique. Peristome not continuous, sharp. Columellar side almost vertical, hiding the greater part of the umbilicus.”
Liardetia dendrophila – “Height 2.7, breadth 3.9-4.1, height of aperture 1.6 mm.” (Benthem-Jutting, 1950)
Type locality – “East Java: Tengger Mts” leg. H. Fruhstorfer/1891 (Benthem-Jutting, 1950)
Other localities – ”West Java: Mt. Masigit, near Padalarang, 700 m” leg. E. Jacobson (Benthem-Jutting, 1950)
Habitat – “Living on the ground, among earth, dead leaves, decaying wood and low vegetation.” (Benthem-Jutting, 1950)
