Pupina evansi Godwin Austen, 1889
“The type of this species was a dead shell from a cave-deposit. Mr. Everett has since presented to the Museum a living example from Bau, in N. Borneo; this is of a dirty pellucid appearance, with a pale peristome. The Sirhassen shells are of a brownish colour, becoming reddish towards the lip; they agree in other respects.” (E. A. Smith, 1894)
Godwin-Austen (1889) original descriptions on Pupina evansi – “Shell globosely oval, polished, solid; sculpture very minute, transverse, distant striation, probably more marked in the living state; colour quite faded, a slight tinge of brown remaining, so that it was probably of a bright polished brown; spire high, sides convex; apex blunt; suture very shallow; whorls 5, sides convex; aperture circular, perpendicular; peristome thickened, discontinuous, not sinuate on margin, a very narrow slot at the columeliar margin, another near suture.”
Kobelt (1902) descriptions on Pupina (Tylotoechus) evansi – “Schale kurz eiförmig, glatt, festwandig, mit sehr feinen, weitläufigen, schrägen Streifen; Gewinde hoch, gewölbt; Naht kaum eingedrückt; 5 gewölbte Windungen; Mündung senkrecht, kreisrund; Mundrand verdickt, unterbrochen, nicht gebuchtet, mit engen Einschnitten in der Spindel und nahe der Naht.”
Pupina evansi – “Size: maj. diam. 4.2; alt. axis 6.6 millim.” (Godwin-Austen, 1889); Pupina (Tylotoechus) evansi – “H. 6.6, Durchm. 4.2 mm.” (Kobelt, 1902)
