Sabalimax cyanantyx Tillier & Bouchet, 1988
Tiller & Bouchet (1988) original descriptions on Sabalimax cyanantyx – “The shell (broken for dissection) had three whorls, was extremely thin and exhibited only faint radial ribs.”
“The radula has ca. 100 teeth per row. Each half row having ten laterals. The central is tricuspid; the laterals have a well-developed ectocone, which is located at the same level as the ectocones of the central, and a very faint endocone which is located closed to the apex of the teeth. The marginals are bicuspid, the ectocone being at most as long as the endocone (the latter seeming to be homologous with the mesocone of the laterals.” (Tiller & Bouchet, 1988)
“When alive the foot is grey-blue, with the dorsal region pink instead of yellow in S. panherina. The tail is shorter, and the mantle lobes are much less developed than in S. pantherina. The arrangement of the organs is similar in both species.” (Tiller & Bouchet, 1988)
“Genital apparatus: Differs from the one of S. pantherina in its smaller size, larger relative length of the free oviduct and in penial morphology: there is no anvil-shaped appendix, and the only appendix present opens into the apical region of the penis instead of the epiphallus. This appendix is totally enclosed in the penial sheath.” (Tiller & Bouchet, 1988)
Type locality – “upper montane zone of Mt. Kinabalu (Sabah, Borneo)” (Tiller & Bouchet, 1988)
