Opisthoporus hungerfordi (Godwin-Austen, 1889)  

Godwin-Austen (1889) original descriptions on Rhiostoma hungerfordi – “Shell discoid, umbilicated; colour rich dark madder-brown, crossed with broad regular V-shaped markings for 4 whorls, where the varix of an old aperture is seen; in front of this the markings are less developed; spire perfectly flat; apex papillate, scarcely raised above the succeeding whorls; suture well impressed, the tube small, adhering to the penultimate whole, curved downward and pointed; whorls 4, rounded, the last leaving the penultimate at the sutural tube 7 mm. from the aperture; peristome double, the outer thin and much expanded at right angles to the whorl.”

Kobelt (1902) descriptions on Cyclotus (Opisthophorus) hungerfordi – “Schale genabelt, scheibenförmig, tiefbräun mit breiten, dreieckigen Flecken; Gewinde flach, Apex zitzenförmig, kaum vorspringend; Naht eingedrückt; 4 gewölbte Windungen, letzte mit dem Resf eines früheren Mundrandes, von der Röhre an abgelöst; diese steht 7 mm hinter dem Mündrande, klein, gebogen, spitz, an die vorletzte Windung angedrückt; Mundrand doppelt, äusserer dünn, rechtwinklig zurückgebogen.”
