Godwin-Austen (1889) original descriptions on Georissa williamsi – “Shell elongately ovate, solid; sculpture indistinct spiral liration, showing strongest on the apical whorl; colour ruddy ochraceous; spire high; apex blunt, smooth; suture well impressed; whorls 4½, convex, the last very ample; aperture oval, oblique; peristome simple, sharp-edged; columellar margin straight. Size: maj. diam. 1.7 mm; alt. axis 2.3 mm.”

Georissa hurgerfordi – “Shell globosely conical, solid, imperforate; sculpture spirally lirate, about 15 ribs on the last whorl, all sharply defined, but becoming ill-defined towards the apex, which is quite smooth; spire conical; apex papillate; suture well impressed; whorls 4, very convex; aperture semi-ovate, subvertical; peristome simple, outer margin rounded, straight on the columellar side.”
