Dyakia busanensis Godwin-Austen, 1891
“The specimens from this locality differ from the typical form in being of a uniform horny brown colour (var. concolor). The spire may be a triffle less conical, but as regards the number of whorls and the character of the sculpture they are practically identical. The whorls are a trifle convex and distinctly impressed above the suture. Although not mentioned by Godwin-Austen, there are microscopic spiral or concentric striae on the base, and, near the keel, they are quite evident, even under an ordinary lens. Nanina sarawakana, Dohrn appears to be very near this species.” (E. A. Smith, 1895)
Godwin-Austen (1891) original descriptions on Dyakia busanensis – “Shell discoid, sharply keeled; umbilicated; sculpture above finely decussate, produced by rather irregular transverse lines of growth crossed by very longitudinal hair-like striae; below glassy, no spiral striae, a few transverse lines; colour pale ashy white, with a single broad band next to the periphery and suture; spire low, flatly pyramidal; apex rounded; suture a mere thread; whorls 5, sides very flat; aperture semilunate, oblique; peristome thin; columellar margin oblique, not reflected, very weak.”
Laidlaw (1963) descriptions on Dyakia busanensis – “Shell depressed, rather lenticular, sharply keeled, suture not impressed; upper surface finely striate, lower surface polished; whorls 5 ½. Diam. max. 21 mm., alt. 11 mm. Dull white, usually with a single bard of orange-brown at the periphery. This description is based on a number of specimens in the Royal Scottish Museum. Var. concolor Smith, 1895, is almost uniformly dull brownish. The figure given by Godwin-Austen (1891, pl. 2, fig. 1) does not depict busanensis, as stated in the text, but hugonis.”
Dyakia busanensis – “Size: maj. diam. 19.0, min. 17.2; alt. axis 6.7 millim.” (Godwin-Austen, 1891)
Type locality – “Busan Hills” leg. A. Everett (Godwin-Austen, 1891); Dyakia busanensis concolor “Batang Lupar district, Sarawak” (E. A. Smith, 1895)
