Everettia klemmantanica Gude, 1918
“Diagnostic characteristics: The densely placed nodules over the surface and more angular periphery distinguish this species from E. paulbasintali and the others.” (Liew et al., 2009)
“Remarks: The type materials were obtained from a natural history dealer in 1904 (Gude, 1918). Type locality was in Borneo with unknown exact location.” (Liew et al., 2009)
Gude (1918) original descriptions on Everettia klemmantanica – “Shell sub covered perforate, depressed orbicular; closely and rugosely striated, the striae above the periphery broken up into fine granules by close spirals; below the periphery the spirals are microscopic; corneous, dull above, shining below. Whorls 5½, increasing regularly, slightly convex above, tumid below, angulated at the periphery, not descending. Aperture sublunate; peristome acute, columellar slightly reflected over the narrow perforation of the umbilicus.”
Liew et al. (2009) descriptions on Everettia klemmantanica – “Shell: large, rather thin, yellowish brown. Spire moderately elevated, outer whorls shouldered below the suture. Periphery slightly angular, more distinctly angular in juveniles. Above the periphery, shell with a silky lustre, very densely placed radial riblets, and cut by very densely arranged spiral grooves, forming nodules over the surface. Below the periphery, shell has fine, densely placed spiral grooves. …number of whorls up to five and seven-eighths...”
“Animal: lighter black bands on either side of tentacles, which are divided by a white band that occupies the space between eye tentacles, and black bands faded towards the end of mantle and downward to just below the eye tentacles. Other parts of the animal are covered by regularly spaced oblique dotted belts. The mantle is almost uniformly reddish brown and followed by regularly spaced radial darker brown bands at the last half whorl.” (Liew et al., 2009)
“Genitalia: maximum length from genital opening to the end of dart-sac (before the visible gland tubules) up to 18 mm. The penis, dart-sac, and vagina with thick muscular walls. Penis, vagina arranged near the genital opening then followed by bursa copulatrix and dart-sac where there is much space in the atrium between the openings of penis + vagina and bursa copulatrix + dart-sac. Long BC about two-thirds of total dart-sac length.” (Liew et al., 2009)
Shell height – 14 mm; Shell width – 25-27.5 mm.
Everettia klemmantanica – “Height up to 15.4 mm; width up to 30.8 mm; diameter of the first three whorls 1.3–1.5, 0.9–1.1, and 1.9–2.0 mm, respectively; height aperture up to 11.1 mm; width aperture up to 15.8 mm.” (Liew et al., 2009)
“Distribution Sabah: Crocker Range – Mahua and Mesilau.” (Liew et al., 2009)
“Habitat: Primary forest, 1200–1800 m alt.” (Liew et al., 2009)
